Ghana head coach Otto Addo has stuck with Swindon Town goalkeeper as he names his Black Stars side to take on Madagascar’s Barea in the 2023 AFCON qualifying opener at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Wollacott was in between the sticks for the four-time AFCON winners when they secured the sole ticket available for grabs, beating Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs.

Despite Richard Ofori playing an instrumental role in Orlando Pirates’ campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup, the English fourth-tier shot-stopper gets the chance to start in goal.

In defence, Club Brugge’s Denis Odoi, Daniel Amartey, Gideon Mensah, and Baba Rahman all have starting places in the team.

Real Mallorca midfielder Baba Iddrisu Mohammed, Kudus Mohammed, and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku complete the shape of the team in the middle – both defensive and offensive. Skipper Andre Ayew is assigned a free role to operate within loose spaces.

Jordan Ayew and Felix Afena-Gyan lead the attacking lines for the team.
