Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko have rejected an opportunity to re-sign defender Ahmed Adams on a free transfer, according to Accra-based Asempa FM.

Adams, 29, spent three seasons with the Porcupine Warriors from 2015 to 2018 and is now back into the West African nation hoping to reunite with his former club.

However, according to Enoch Worlanyo on the SportsNite show on Monday evening, the club has decided against re-signing the defender who has also played in Saudi Arabia.

Adams left Icelandic side KFA Austfjarda in May 2022, according to Transfermarkt.com.

He is likely to head to Berekum Chelsea. If a move to the Berekum-based club materialises, it would be his third spell with the club.
