MON-TRAN Limited Donates Motor Bikes to Police

 

MON-TRAN Limited, a company in the cash transit business has donated ten motorcycles worth GH₵150,000 to the Ghana Police Service.

The presentation, according to the company is geared towards promoting police patrols and visibility in our communities.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MON-TRAN, Anthony Minkah who presented the motor Bikes to the police in an address stressed the need for the public to support the Police in ensuring that the crime wave in the country was reduced.

“Based on this cordial relationship between MON-TRAN and the Police Service the company decided to present ten Yamaha motorcycles to the Police Service as part of our social responsibility to assist the Police in fighting crimes in the communities, ’’ he said.

Mr. Minkah said police visibility in communities is crucial since it scares and reduces the crime wave to the barest minimum.

He commended the personnel of the Service for their dedication in ensuring that lives and properties are saved and protected in the country.

He assured the Police Service of the company’s continuous support in helping them achieve their mandate.

The Director-General of National Patrols Department, of the Ghana Police Service Commissioner of Police (COP)Paul Manly Awini who spoke on behalf of the Inspector General of Police(IGP)Dr. George Akuffo Dampare said the cycles would help in promoting police visibility in the communities.

He said the Police Service was currently rolling out community crime combat, where personnel would be visible in the communities and engage with residents to ensure safety.

Continuing, he said under the crime combat, police districts would be divided into two zones and trained police personnel would be deployed with side ammunition to partner with members of the communities.

He assured the public of the Police Administration’s commitment to ensuring that lives and properties were saved even at the peril of their lives.
