BREAKING: David Duncan leaves Medeama as head coach after just four months in charge

Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have mutually parted ways with David Duncan, the club has announced.

Duncan, a former Ghana assistant coach during C.K Akonnor’s rein, was appointed in September 2022 on a one-year deal.

The club’s statement reads:

Medeama Sporting Club and Head Coach David Duncan today parted company on mutual ground. Duncan joined the Mauve and Yellow in September 2022, signing a one-year contract.

However, circumstances mean both parties have reached an agreement to go separate ways after four months. The experienced gaffer supervised five Ghana Premier League matches during his tenure. On behalf of everyone at Medeama SC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to David Duncan for his efforts during his time with the club and wish him well in his future endeavour.

He oversaw 9 games with a win rate of just 33.33% while losing 4 games and drawing 2 in the league.

Results didn’t go as he wanted them with the latest being their elimination from the MTN FA Cup at the hands of rivals Karela United FC and this has led to his departure.

On Tuesday, broadcast journalist Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM’s SportsNite show reported that the former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko trainer has confided in a close friend that he is not happy at the club.
