Black Stars coach Otto Addo named just one home-based player in his 29-man squad for September’s FIFA international friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.

On Tuesday morning the Ghana FA released a list of 29 players for the two games which will be played in France and Spain as part of Ghana’s preparations for the World Cup.

Strangely only one member from the successful Black Galaxies team that recently defeated Nigeria to qualify for the 2023 CHAN tournament in Algeria made the squad.

Hearts of Oak’s Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, who has been in great form, was the only player invited by the Borussia Dortmund head of talent development.

With the performance exhibited by some of the key actors’ of the Black Galaxies’ qualification, the likes Umar Bashiru and Danlad Ibrahim had been tipped to gatecrash the Black Stars squad.

But, Otto had different ideas as he names only Barnieh in the squad which includes debutante Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer who plays for Hamburg SV.
