Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have revealed the reason why the Ghana FA rejected their request to postpone their Ghana Premier League matchday 29 clash with Gold Stars.

According to the club’s Administrative Manager Hackman Aidoo on Kumasi-based Pure FM, the Ghanaian football regulatory body rejected their medical report.

Aidoo confirmed to Bright Kankam Boadu: “We formally notified the GFA about our medical emergence which caused about 21 of our players to be hospitalised after our game against Dreams FC last Saturday.”

According to the details shared by the experienced administrator the medical report was rejected for its originality.

“They wrote back to us rejecting the medical report which was handwritten by our certified and official doctor Dr. Jonathan Quartey. For originality and authenticity, he wrote the report and stamped it. But, it was rejected by the GFA and we were told to submit a typed (computer-generated) report,” he further revealed.

“For us, this was very shocking because everybody knows Dr. Quartey in the country with his impressive reputation in the sports medicine field. He signed and stamped the report to further validate it. But, it was rejected once again,” he added.

“We later submitted another report per their request but, they still rejected the request. We are a little bit surprised that the same FA that couldn’t grant our request based on a proven medical case has been able to postpone the AshantiGold vs Kotoko game based on the grounds of security concerns which in nature can be addressed,” he stated.

Hearts of Oak eventually won the tie 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium with 44-time Ghana capped Samuel Inkoom scoring the solitary goal of the game from the penalty spot.
